Inside The Curriculum

A Real First Step for Ages 4 to 6

Cubs is the youngest class on the mat at Dynamic Martial Arts. Tuesdays we run Gi class. Thursdays we run No-Gi. Each class is built around short, focused drills so a 4 year old can win in the first five minutes.

No gimmicks, no candy rewards. Kids earn what they leave with. Parents see the difference at home first. Better listening, more patience, and pride in something they earned.

What Students Gain

What Cubs Jiu-Jitsu delivers.

Listening That Travels Home

Parents see the change at the dinner table before they see it on the mat. Better listening, more patience, and respect that shows up at home.

First-Day Wins Built In

Every class is built so a 4 year old can leave with a win. Stand on a spot, listen to one direction, try one drill. The wins stack from there.

Real Jiu-Jitsu, Kid-Sized

Cubs learn real positional concepts from day one. Not a watered-down version, just a kid-sized version of what every adult on this mat learns.

How We Build Kids

Built around how kids actually develop.

Every kids program keys in on the four stages of childhood development: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social. We call it PIES. It is how we structure classes, design drills, and build the relationships that turn a shy four-year-old into a confident kid who walks into school with a quiet sense of who they are.

  • P Physical

Coordination, strength, control of the body.

  • I Intellectual

Focus, problem-solving, learning how to learn.

  • E Emotional

    Confidence, self-regulation, handling setbacks.

  • S Social

    Respect, teamwork, friendship across ages.

Before You Sign Up

Common questions about Cubs Jiu-Jitsu in Wichita Falls, TX.

My child is shy. Will Cubs work for them?

Yes. Shy is the most common starting point in this age group. Instructors keep first-day expectations small on purpose. The confidence builds from there, and parents almost always see the change at home before they see it in class.

What is the difference between Gi and No-Gi for kids this young?

Gi class wears a traditional uniform with grips and a belt. No-Gi class wears shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard. The skill set is the same. Some kids prefer one, some come to both.

How long are Cubs classes?

Thirty minutes. That is the right amount of time to stretch attention without breaking it for this age group.

Do we have to commit before we know?

No. The first lesson is free. The first full week is free. Decide after you have seen it for yourself.
